MSM GROUP has for long been supporting young sports talents and golfer Frederika Rychtáriková is another one. She held a golf club in her hands for the first time at the age of 12 and hasn’t let go since. At the age of 16, she was already among the world’s best players under the age of 19, and at the age of 17 she became World Junior Vice Champion. Talent, grit or both? One or the other, we are happy to support Frederika’s journey to fulfill her sporting dreams.
He’s going for gold
The young sportswoman’s achievements are not enough and she is heading to next year’s championships with a clear goal in mind. “I’m going for the gold, I’m not going to leave it to a German,” says the motivated Frederika, who is now in her 6th season. During this time she has managed to collect several important awards – 3rd place at the Slovak Junior Championships, 3rd place on the Hungarian Tour or 6th place at the Malta Junior Open.
She considers her most important achievement to be the title of World Junior Vice-Champion. She even qualified for this competition with a concussion. “I was hit in the head by a ball at a tournament in the Czech Republic. The guy who was hitting the ball cross-handed didn’t call it to me. I was lying on the ground, it was blurry, but I told myself I wasn’t going to let him take the win away from me. I had a concussion and a headache. But I finished the tournament, won it and qualified for this year’s World Championships.
Travels 3 hours a day to train
Golf is perceived as an expensive sport, but so is tennis and hockey. Everywhere you need equipment and good conditions for training. Because there is only a nine-hole short course in Trencin, from where Frederika lives, she travels to Senec, where she is a member of the Hrubá Borša Golf Club. She commutes three hours almost every day. And this is where the helping hand of the partners is needed.
“We heard about Frederika recently when she was described in the media as a girl with bold strokes. She is young, her career is ahead of her and it would be a shame not to support such a talent. We are a strong player in the global defence market and we see it as our duty to help talented young athletes become just as strong in the world,” says Michal Fúrik, Director of Marketing and Communications at MSM GROUP, about the new cooperation.
