The support was provided by MSM ĽUĎOM, the civic association of MSM GROUP. The total value of the support amounts to nearly EUR 52,000. The MSM ĽUĎOM civic association funded the purchase of an anaesthesia machine for Nemocnica s poliklinikou Ilava (Ilava Hospital and Polyclinic).The hospital will use the device in approximately 1,000 surgical procedures each year.The association also provided EUR 25,000 to fund rehabilitation and therapies for children with neurological and developmental diagnoses or autism spectrum disorder.
MSM ĽUĎOM, a civic association belonging to MSM GROUP, has supported two healthcare projects that will deliver tangible benefits to patients and their families. It fully funded the purchase of a new anaesthesia machine for Nemocnica s poliklinikou Ilava (Ilava Hospital and Polyclinic), worth nearly EUR 27,000. A further EUR 25,000 will go to MSmedical to make intensive rehabilitation and therapies more accessible to children whose families are often unable to afford the full extent of the care they need.

New anaesthesia machine for Ilava Hospital
Ilava Hospital and Polyclinic has received a new General Electric Healthcare Carestation anaesthesia machine equipped with a vital signs monitor and anaesthetic vaporiser. The purchase was fully funded by the MSM ĽUĎOM civic association. The new equipment has replaced an older device and will be used by medical staff in approximately 1,000 surgical procedures each year. Ilava Hospital performs more than 3,000 operations annually across three operating theatres in the fields of surgery, gynaecology and orthopaedics.
“Anaesthesia teams are an integral part of surgical teams, and appropriate medical equipment is essential to their work. The new device meets the most stringent standards of modern medicine. We are grateful that the MSM ĽUĎOM civic association provided the hospital with the funding to purchase it, thereby helping to modernise our operating theatre equipment, improve patient safety during procedures and enhance working conditions for medical staff,” said Juraj Beďatš, Director of Nemocnica s poliklinikou Ilava, n. o.
The new device enables more precise monitoring of ventilation parameters, provides greater reliability and offers a broader range of ventilation modes. Its compact dimensions also make it easier for medical staff to move it between operating theatres as required.
Support for rehabilitation and therapies for children
The MSM GROUP civic association has also provided EUR 25,000 to make intensive rehabilitation and therapies more accessible to children whose families often cannot afford the necessary care from their own resources.Families of children with neurological and developmental diagnoses or autism spectrum disorder face not only the financial burden of long-term care, but also limited capacity at specialised facilities and waiting times. In addition, some of the necessary therapeutic and rehabilitation services may not be fully covered by public health insurance. The support will fund two therapeutic programmes run by the Trenčín-based MSmedical civic association.
The programme Silnejší na zajtra (Stronger for Tomorrow) is designed for children with neurological and developmental diagnoses. It will enable them to undergo intensive neurorehabilitation using the Dynamic Movement Intervention approach under the professional supervision of a physiotherapist. The programme also includes consultations with parents and the development of a home rehabilitation programme.
The programme Krok za krokom (Step by Step) will support children with autism spectrum disorder aged 6 to 15. Through individual ABA therapy, it focuses on developing communication, behaviour and practical skills. Parents are also involved in the programme and receive recommendations on how to continue working with their child in everyday settings.
“When it comes to children’s rehabilitation and therapy, it is often not only the quality of care that matters, but also its accessibility and regularity. The EUR 25,000 in support will enable us to help families for whom funding the necessary extent of therapy from their own resources would be extremely difficult or simply unaffordable. For us, this donation represents more than financial assistance. Above all, it means actual hours of therapy, professional care and an opportunity for children to take another step forward,” said MUDr. Martina Sameková, a physician specialising in physical and rehabilitation medicine and Vice-Chair of the MSmedical civic association.
“MSM GROUP has been part of the Považie region for many years, and we feel a responsibility towards the people who live here. This is also why our MSM ĽUĎOM association supports projects with clear, tangible outcomes. In Ilava, we funded a device that the hospital will use in approximately 1,000 operations each year. In the case of the second institution we supported, our contribution translates into hours of rehabilitation and therapy that some families would otherwise find very difficult to access. There is no doubt that our support serves a clear purpose,” said Lenka Smreková, Executive Director of MSM GROUP, during the symbolic cheque presentation at Ilava Hospital.
Support with tangible results
The MSM ĽUĎOM civic association has long supported projects that deliver practical and targeted benefits to people. Its support is primarily directed towards regions where MSM GROUP operates and where its employees live. These include, in particular, the Považie region in western Slovakia and the area around Snina in eastern Slovakia, where the ZVS holding plant is located, as well as the Upper Nitra region, where VOP Nováky operates. At the same time, the association also supports organisations operating nationwide, such as Future Generation and Svetielko nádeje.
