Since May 2025, the nitrocellulose production plant and industrial park in Walsrode, Bomlitz, Germany has been part of the MSM GROUP. The company, formerly IFF N&H Germany GmbH & Co., has officially changed its name to MSM Walsrode.

As a full member of the MSM Group and, consequently, the Czechoslovak Group, MSM Walsrode is entering a new strategic phase. Alongside its existing production of Walsroder® nitrocellulose for civilian use, the company will increase production to include energy nitrocellulose, a key raw material for ammunition, to meet growing demand. This step will bolster Europe’s strategic supply chain in the defence sector.

Maintaining a strong regional presence remains one of the company’s core objectives. MSM Walsrode is currently rebuilding all key corporate functions in Bomlitz and expanding its team. With around 380 employees, including 50 trainees, MSM Walsrode is now one of the largest employers in the region. The nitrocellulose produced in Bomlitz has been used for decades in printing inks, packaging and coatings, thereby contributing to the industrial base and economic stability of the area.

The company will be led by a four-person management team consisting of Tomáš Kaisr (CEO), Christian Fauska (COO), André Popp (CCO) and David Pergl (CFO).

Unveiling the new MSM Walsrode logo

The company, formerly known as IFF, is entering a new chapter as MSM Walsrode. This historic milestone calls for a new visual identity. Thanks to the collaboration between the project team and the marketing department at MSM GROUP, we have created a logo and identity that builds on the brand’s rich tradition while linking it to the group’s modern, global concept.

The wolf symbol is once again brought to the fore, referencing the company’s roots. Pulvermühle Leschen, Urlaub & Wolff was founded in 1815 on the site of a former paper mill on the Bomlitz River. Founder August Wolff gradually took over the company as sole owner, initially focusing on producing black gunpowder and later expanding to include nitrocellulose. In the 1970s, a logo featuring a wolf was created in honour of the founder’s surname. This logo represented the plant and its cellulose chemical production for over 35 years.

The new design draws on over 130 years of producing this raw material in Bomlitz, combining historical elements with a modern aesthetic and paying homage to the Wolff family, who founded the company and shaped its identity. The wolf in the new logo symbolises not only the founder’s name and the company’s long-standing connection to the plant, but also strength, determination and reliability.
